The 8th Annual Bike Week took place May 11-18, 2019. More than ever, Bike Week included events across all of Kalamazoo County. Thanks to all the organizers, volunteers, committee members and sponsors who made 2019 such a success!

Check out the calendar below for all the Events that took place during Bike Week 2019, and check out the Announcements page for news that took place during the week until we “retire” them and our 2019 Sponsors page in the fall.

Many of us are already looking ahead and forward to Bike Week 2020. Please see our Organizer Info page for ideas and how to get involved. You are welcome to help shape and join in the week-long (“plus”) celebration! This year we will be holding a Fall Bike Celebration from September 20-22 to welcome the autumnal equinox, as well. There’s lots happening to show that our greater community is becoming even more bicycle friendly.

As the months progress between now and the next Bike Week, we will be updating the calendar to let you know about periodic planning meetings.

This site is for general informational and educational purposes. Please contact our wonderful event organizers or click on the links to their websites for more information — they are the ones responsible for the events themselves and deserve all the credit. Please thank them and support their ongoing efforts to make our greater community even more bicycle friendly, throughout the year!

Descriptions on our calendar may not include all the details or last minute changes so please contact the organizers as needed.

We wish you safe and happy rides during Bike Week and throughout the year.
Hope to see you out there!

Fall Bike Celebration - Sunday's Events in Vicksburg

  • Vicksburg, MI USA (map)

Vicksburg Historic Village (1-5pm)

The Vicksburg Historic Village will transport you back in time to the turn of the century (1890-1932). The wonderfully designed village offers period buildings teeming with historic artifacts that tell the story of life in a small rural village. What’s more, it is located right next door to the Farmer’s Market! It has the same hours on Saturday … we’re happily featuring it on Friday and Sunday as one of the many special attractions Vicksburg has to offer as it welcomes everyone on this Fall Bike Celebration Weekend!

There will be more to BFK’s Fall Bike Celebration Weekend in the years to come, if the fantastic citizens of our greater community have anything to say about it. We hope you can join us in our inaugural year!

Public Bike Art Prize Award Ceremony (Afternoon, Venue TBA)

During this ceremony more than $1,750 in cash prizes will be awarded, in the competition that was officially opened for entry on August 15, and the deadline for submissions is September 5, per the official Rules.

Art is to be submitted digitally, but will be rendered by Bike Friendly Kalamazoo in the form of durable outdoor banners suitable for mounting on public lamp poles.Consort Display Group has made a very generous in-kind donation of materials to make this possible.
